The Norwegian energy company Equinor has been in Tanzania since 2007 and made significant gas discoveries offshore Tanzania in Block 2.

Equinor as operator of Block 2 is preparing for the development of the gas resources. The gas will be extracted offshore and transported onshore for further processing in a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Plant.
